2018 steam train dates for your diary! Our magnificent little steam locomotive, ‘Count Strzelecki’ will be running on these Sundays in 2018: 1st April (Easter Egg Hunt) 3rd June 1st July 5th August (Heritage Craft Day) 7th October 2nd December The train makes several trips during the day and tickets are $10.00 each. It’s always advisable to ring beforehand (5655 1811) to make sure the loco is running.
Spotted: a flying fox in Devlin's General Store! However, unlike their bat namesake, this flying fox was used for money transportation. The canister would be unscrewed and the sales assistant would put the money and bill in it. Once it was screwed back in position the release mechanism was pulled and the canister flew along a cable from the counter to the cashier. The cashier would then send the change and reciept back to the counter the same way. Drop in to Coal Creek Community Park and Museum to see the flying fox in action. * * * #coalcreek #southgippsland #coalcreekcommunityparkandmuseum #history #flyingfox #museum #1900s #korumburra #visitgippsland #familyfun #open #devlins #generalstore #promcountry #livinghistory #money #freeentry #tripadvisor #visitvictoria #igaustralia #discoveraustralia #ourhistory
